Sikh games 2026 representation for our ladies and mens teams
The Barford Tigers Ladies and Men's hockey teams competed successfully in this year's Sikh Games, held at Brunel University with our Ladies finishing as runners up and the Men in third place. Both teams were made up of young and upcoming stars of the future at the club too.
Congratulations to both teams who took part and we would like to thank the Sikh Games organisers, sponsors, volunteers, coaches and supporters for making the day special. Many sports were played and enjoyed, it was lovely to see the involvement of so many juniors, ladies and men's teams.
Ladies
The ladies squad were led by captain, Amanpreet Sokhi and this was the first year our ladies have competed in this tournament.
The ladies won their first game against Indian Gymkhana HC and catapulted into the final against a strong Slough side. End to end action throughout, soild defending and chances were created. The final whistle blew and the match ended in a tie, which resulted in strokes. Congratulations to Slough HC for winning the tournament.

Mens
The mens squad was led by captain, Harpreet Kalia. After an unbeaten day of hockey, the Tigers finished in an impressive third place.
The team recorded two wins and three draws during the group stage, with the standout result being 7-0 victory against Herts and Beds. Consistent performances across all five matches secured a place in the third/fourth place play-off against Berks and Surrey, narrowly missing out on the final.
Barford Tigers rounded off the tournament with a 2-1 win over Berks and Surrey to claim third place overall. Remaining unbeaten throughout the day was a testament to the team's determination and ability to perform under pressure.
