Barford Tigers Announces 60th Anniversary National League Pre-Season Tournament

As part of our 60th Anniversary celebrations in 2026, Barford Tigers Hockey Club is proud to announce a special National League Pre-Season Tournament, taking place on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September 2026 in collaboration with the University of Birmingham.

Bringing together National League men’s teams from across the country, the tournament will serve as a showcase of high-quality hockey and a fitting way to celebrate six decades of Barford Tigers’ contribution to the sport. Set against the backdrop of the University of Birmingham’s world-class hockey facilities, the event promises a weekend of competitive action, reconnecting old friends, and creating new memories as clubs prepare for the upcoming season.

The tournament forms a key part of our “Diamonds Are Forever” anniversary programme, recognising the rich history of Barford Tigers since our formation in 1966 while looking forward to an exciting future for the club and the wider hockey community.

Over the coming months, we will be confirming the participating teams, tournament format, spectator information, sponsorship opportunities, and a number of special activities that will celebrate the club’s history throughout the weekend.

We are delighted to be working alongside the University of Birmingham to deliver what promises to be one of the standout pre-season events in the 2026 hockey calendar.
